    November 16, 2010 – SPENDING ON online advertising in Ireland rose by more than 12 per cent in the first half of 2010 to almost €54 million, driven by a rise in the number of internet users.

    November 11, 2010 – The USA set a record on the level of profit received from online advertising. According to Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PwC, the income of the sector received during the first six months of 2010 increased by 11.3 percent to $12.1 billion. Contextual advertising is the leader, but video advertising shows positive dynamics as well. The Internet continues to put pressure on traditional media outlets.

    A request for advice about an “unwanted guest” and reports that a man was “not walking a dog in a popular dog walking spot” were among hundreds of inane 999 calls received by Greater Manchester Police as the force used Twitter to detail every incident it dealt with in a 24-hour period.

    Search Remains Strong, Digital Video Soars as Display Gains Momentum—Double-Digit Growth in Online Advertising Is Back

    NEW YORK, NY (October 12, 2010) — The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PwC US today released the IAB Internet Advertising Revenue Report for the first half of 2010. Internet advertising revenues in the U.S. were at $12.1 billion in that period, setting a new half-year record that represents an 11.3 percent increase over the first half of 2009. This is also the highest second-quarter revenue on record, up 13.9 percent over the same period of 2009.
